Myriad Melodies' full set of 9 Chakra Color Solfeggio Tubes will make a great addition to your collection of sound instruments. Solfeggio stems from the word Solfege, the musical syllables UT RE MI FA SOL and LA. The Solfege was associated with many healing benefits for those who chanted and sung them. Each culture has their own versions of these ancient syllables and they are often associated with profound healing and and spiritual development.

This Solfeggio tube set has reduced weight and is easier to hold for longer periods of time, produces a smooth sound that can be heard from a distance (especially the higher frequencies), and includes a high quality, durable black carry case.

Be mindful of the edges and corners when storing and retrieving the tubes from the carry case. We recommend placing the tubes from the top down when inserting them into the case.

The Solfeggio tubes make very beautiful sounds that are audible at a distance, except for the lowest 2-3 frequencies. The lowest frequencies of this set generate a softer hum or tone similar to the sound of a tuning fork. Tuning forks are almost completely silent, yet are among the most commonly used instruments by practitioners. While the the lowest frequencies produce a soft and soothing vibration, it will still have many applications and will be effective for working with sound and vibration. The middle and higher frequencies produce a lovely tone that can be heard at a distance, making the Solfeggio tubes an excellent choice for working with a group. This instrument allows you to add the benefits of vibration into any group activity.

Each tube has a natural expression of sound. For the larger tubes, if you try to make them louder with a harder strike, like a high frequency sound, then it won't correlate with the lower Chakras. You can test this by giving the smaller tubes a hard strike as it will translate to a loud and crisp tone because smaller instruments can store a greater amount of energy.

Sometimes there is a tendency to strike the lower tubes harder to try to make them produce a louder sound, but the material will not resonate at a higher frequency because of its size and shape. The buzzing sound is the excess energy of the strike oscillating through the tube.

To use the lower frequency tubes effectively, embrace the quiet sound and trust that the vibrations are impacting both the physical body and the subtle body or biofield.

To ensure the lower frequency tubes are working, give it a gentle striker as not to produce a concussive reverberation, then hold it to your ear to listen for the gentle hum. While it is quiet, it lasts for a long time and will be an effective stimulus for the subtle body or biofield.

The lower octave tubes generate long lasting waves, their soothing resonance is great for relaxing the body and putting the mind in a grounded state, like deep meditation or chanting OM. The higher octave tubes emit powerful, pure tones that can get the attention of a group and be the audible command to begin a group practice or reinforce an affirmation. In a group setting, because of its beauty and how it is held in the hand, it can command attention as a visual cue to direct consciousness through different mental states.

While there are so many benefits associated with the Solfeggio frequencies, there are also many benefits associated with singing or chanting the Solfege, contemporarily known as DO RE MI FA SO LA and TI.

Because of their reach, they are very easy to use during a group activity to work on a particular Chakra or region of the body. While doing specific positions or routines or using specific Chakra tubes for individual requests, this instrument allows you to incorporate sound and vibration into any activity by sweeping the auric field during practice. Striking a particular tube helps to focus the mind on a particular Chakra or region of the body and associate its vibration with the sound and the activity.

The last few minutes of a yoga class or sound session, in the deepest states of relaxation, is an excellent time to apply this instrument. Along with the effect of the sound instrument, the vibrations can be so soothing and can be an external confirmation of the attunement we experience with a committed daily practice. A few of the lower octave tubes make a quiet sound but the wavelengths are long and powerful, and are perfectly suited for sweeping the auric field or sending vibrations through the muscle and tissue.

When using the higher frequencies, think uplifting, centering the mind, focus, creativity, mental direction of your mind and body, with the lower octaves, think that you are syncing with the field of the earth, your are deeply relaxing into the ground of your being, peacefulness and rejuvenation. A tuning fork produces one fixed frequency, activated and held, so you always know which tone you are working with. A Crystal Singing Bowl fills a room with one full, sustained note; a tuning fork puts that same frequency in your hand, ready to bring to the body or a Chakra point directly. Sound is vibration you can feel as much as hear, and since everything is a vibration, a clean, repeatable tone gives you something concrete and direct to work with.

Reiki practitioners, sound healers, and Yoga teachers reach for tuning forks because they are portable and easy to use in a session. An unweighted fork, tuned to a Solfeggio tone or a Chakra note, is played in the air near the ear or the aura for Entrainment work. A weighted fork, like the OTTO series, is built to rest directly on the skin, carrying its tone through bone and tissue for a deeper, more grounding kind of contact. Most practitioners build a small collection that covers both ways of working.

Attenuator attachments add a third option without changing the tone itself. Screwed onto the fork's stem, an attenuator changes the surface that meets the body: a rounded Weighted Boot moves along meridian lines and larger areas of skin, while a Crystal Massage Attenuator Handle extends your reach by about two inches and swaps the metal tip for a 10mm crystal point, easier on the fingers across a full session. None of this is required for a tuning fork to work, only a way to adapt the same instrument to different kinds of contact. As with any Sound Healing tool, consistency matters: a few minutes a day over three to six months is what most practitioners recommend to build a steady practice.

Myriad Melodies tuning forks are cut to several families of frequency, each with its own use. The Solfeggio scale runs from 174 Hz up through 963 Hz, with 528 Hz the best known of the set, often called the Love Frequency in Solfeggio tradition. A second set follows the same C through B Chakra scale as our Crystal Singing Bowls, so a fork and a bowl tuned to the same note pair naturally in a single session.

A few frequencies stand apart from the rest. The 93.96 Hz Schumann Resonance is tuned to the Earth's own pulse and is used for grounding work at the feet or the base of the spine. The OTTO 64 Hz fork and the OTTO 128 Hz fork, the second often called the OM tuner, are both weighted for direct contact against the sternum, shoulders, or spine, carrying the tone through bone conduction rather than through the air. At the opposite end, the 4096 Hz Crystal Resonator and the three-piece Angel Tuner set are played near the crown, not on the body, for a higher, more ethereal tone.

An attenuator attachment does not change a fork's frequency. The tone is set by the metal and the length of the tines, and that stays fixed no matter what is screwed onto the stem. What an attenuator changes is the interface between the fork and the body: a broader, smoother, or crystal-tipped point of contact for the same accurate tone, so you can match the feel of a session to the frequency you have already chosen.

Activate a tuning fork by tapping the tines against a rubber or silicone activator puck, the heel of your hand, or another padded surface, never anything hard. A hard tap can chip the tines and throw off the tuning, so a firm, even touch is all it takes. Let the tone ring out fully before you activate it again, and give it a moment to settle before moving to the next point or the next fork.

How you bring the tone to the body depends on the fork. An unweighted fork is held an inch or two from the ear or moved slowly through the aura, letting the sound field do the work. A weighted fork is pressed directly against skin or bone, over the sternum, the spine, or the soles of the feet, so the vibration travels in through contact rather than through the air. Some practitioners activate two forks a beat apart and let both tones ring together for simple Entrainment work.

To use an attenuator, thread it onto the fork's stem and secure it with the included Allen wrench; it stays in place through normal use and unscrews just as easily when you want the bare fork back. A Weighted Boot is built for gliding across larger areas or along a meridian line, while the Crystal Massage Attenuator Handle suits smaller, more precise points like a single Chakra center. Wipe the fork down between clients or sessions, keep it away from hard surfaces, and store it in its padded case when you are done.
